REVISION EYELID & FACIAL SURGERY POLICY

Before You Schedule

To provide the highest level of care, it is important to understand the nature of revision consultations: Dr. Isaacs can only determine whether he may be able to help after an in-person examination. Photographs, operative reports, or descriptions alone are not sufficient to determine candidacy.

The consultation is for evaluation and recommendations. In some cases, no further treatment may be advised. We ask that all patients be open to receiving an honest, expert opinion, even if that means surgery is not recommended. We do not offer pre-screening or surgical recommendations outside of a formal consultation.

Expert Evaluation for Complex Cases

Revision surgery is among the most technically demanding and nuanced areas in oculofacial plastic surgery. Patients seeking revision have often:

  • Undergone prior procedures
  • Consulted with multiple surgeons
  • Received differing opinions

At this level, success depends on precise diagnosis, surgical judgment, and restraint.

A Thoughtful, Individualized Approach

Dr. Isaacs approaches revision surgery with a focus on:

  • Accurate diagnosis of the underlying problem
  • Realistic outcome assessment
  • Preservation of function and anatomy
  • Natural, balanced results

Not every concern can—or should—be corrected surgically.

Consultation Fee

  • $500 consultation fee
  • Non-refundable
  • Not billable to insurance
  • Applies only to the consultation and does not apply toward future procedures or services

The consultation is for Dr. Isaacs’ time, expertise, and comprehensive evaluation—regardless of the outcome.

Setting Expectations

Revision surgery is fundamentally different from primary surgery.

  • There is no such thing as a “small tweak” in revision surgery
  • Prior surgical changes may limit what can safely be improved
  • Perfect symmetry or perfection is not achievable

In some cases:

  • Your perception of the issue may differ from the underlying anatomy
  • Prior recommendations from other providers may not align with Dr. Isaacs’ assessment
  • The most appropriate recommendation may be no further surgery

The goal is not simply to operate, but to determine what is appropriate.

Records & Photographs

You are welcome to bring:

  • Prior operative reports
  • Medical records
  • Photographs

These materials are reviewed during your consultation. We do not provide surgical recommendations or determine candidacy based on submitted photos or records in advance.

Who This Consultation Is For

This consultation is appropriate for patients who:

  • Are seeking a high-level expert opinion
  • Understand that surgery may not be recommended
  • Value honest, thoughtful guidance over unnecessary intervention
